Gallery Salon & Spa:
Approachable, Relaxed Environment Offered by the Gallery Salon & Spa
You can usually find owner and head stylist, Gretchen Camera, at The Gallery Salon and Spa doing what she does best—meeting the needs of her clients.
Camera’s mother purchased the “old hair gallery,” an existing business in Bowling Green and the family business is now known as “The Gallery” and opened in October of 2002.
Growing up in Findlay, Camera met an owner of a salon in another town and that’s how her journey began. “He told me about his training program. I was taking time off school at BGSU, not sure what I really wanted to do with my life so I decided to give it a try and the rest is history,” she said. The Gallery is both a salon and spa that offers a wide selections of services, including: hair cuts, styles, color, retouch, perm/ waves, conditioning/extensions, waxing, makeup application and much more.
Spa services range from skin car, facial enhancements, manicures, pedicures, messagebody treatments as well as spa packages.
Camera’s favorite part about owning a salon and spa is the people involved, both her employees and the public. “Our staff and clients are the best!” she says. Katherine Harvath, a sports management student at BGSU, had nothing but positive things to say about her recent visit to The Gallery.
“I went in for a trim and upon entering I noticed that it was a very clean, open and a friendly environment. All the hairdressers seemed to be experienced and very good at their job. After my haircut, my hairdresser gave me an envelope full of coupons to use on another visit. They were also very helpful in teaching me how to take better care of my hair and recommended some products for me to use. I am very particular about my hair and rarely let anyone mess with it so I was nervous going to them for the first time but they did a great job and would definitely recommend them to others in Bowling Green,” said Harvath.
If Camera had to describe the atmosphere of The Gallery she would describe it as fun, laid back, welcoming and professional. Of course there are other hair salons in Bowling Green but what makes The Gallery stand out in a small town? “Some people have told me that other salons are either very stuffy and unwelcoming or completely under managed and all over the place. I’d like to think we are very accommodating, approachable and relaxed and we take our consistency and quality of our product and professionalism very seriously.”
