Hampton Inn:
Long-Time Hotel Manager Uses Experience to Offer More than Just a Place to Stay
For Sami Abou-Daheck, his work is not so much about managing a quality hotel destination such as the Hampton Inn by Hilton, located at 142 Campbell Hill Road, it’s equally, if not more about meeting new people and being a part of the University through not only serving his guests, but being involved in local activities.
Abou-Dahech has been in the hotel business for 25 years, and has been at the Hampton Inn in Bowling Green for 10 years. He started out in the profession as a guest service representative and a few years later was promoted to being a general manager and later earned credentials to be
a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA). He is now Regional Manager of Hampton Inn.
“Small cities are different,” he says. “They’re quiet and have different challenges. This community is involved with Bowling Green State University and a lot of activities from the university like sports, orientations, graduations.” But that community synergy and the culture provided by the University has been very enjoyable for him. “Having a university audience means that I am exposed to an atmosphere of diversity,” said Abou-Dahech. Overall, it’s a very rewarding job and I enjoy getting to experience every minute of it.”
And when not experiencing the culture, events and people, he keeps very busy with his work as he also manages the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriot, across the parking lot from the Hampton Inn. At both facilities, satisfying the customer is his number one priority, the staff priding itself
in giving 100 percent service with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, no matter what.
“Aside from excellent customer service, our hotel offers clean and fresh Hampton quality beds, free room upgrades, coffee available in the lobby 24/7, to-go breakfast bags, free copies of USA Today,” said Abou-Dahech. “We also offer toothbrushes, tooth paste, sewing kits, shower caps and other basic necessities.”
“Our hotel has many amenities including a fitness and business center, pool, fax, photo copying, and printing services and coin laundry,” said Abou-Dahech. “We also have complimentary breakfast and a multilingual staff. We also have specials such as premium Wi-Fi and the ability to
apply for an Honors membership which allows guests to earn points and save money off of their stays with us.”
“I’m so involved with BG and BGSU,” said Abou-Dahech. “I love the city of Bowling Green and I love the people of the community.”
