St. Marks Church:

St. Mark’s Offers Multiple Ways For Students To Connect, Get Involved

For students attending Bowling Green State University and seeking to grow in their faith, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church has many options for those looking connect and get involved. Located close to campus at 315 S. College Dr., St. Mark’s is a large church dedicated to opening new doors for those in the college community and the community at large.

The church makes it a priority to ensure that the youth and college students are given fun and meaningful opportunities to develop spiritually. Aside from a traditional service, St. Mark’s also offers volunteer and work opportunities to help younger children, such as Vacation Bible School (VBS) during the summer and additional jobs throughout the year. The church also provides a Saturday service at 5 p.m. where guests can enjoy more casual attire in an intimate and meaningful worship service.

Other ways to get involved and serve in the church are by becoming part of the welcoming team and making new members feel comfortable, working behind the scenes in prayer, meal preparation, or even working for the property team for a hands-on experience to make the church and community a safer environment. The church also offers a chance to be involved in Wednesday Night Live. Each Wednesday at 6 p.m. from September through May, they provide a home-cooked meal and time of prayer for the entire community.

Opportunities include cooking, serving, cleaning and visiting with our neighbors.  No matter who you are or where you come from, St. Mark’s strives to offer all its members a place of safety and a platform to improve the life of yourself and others. “We are passionate about serving the global community and demonstrating God’s love to others” the church’s website states. “Whether in person or online, individually or in groups, within our church and around the world, we are focused on supporting and engaging in relationships that provide relief and restoration to a hurting world.”
